Our fourth beinnial CJSA seminar was recently hosted at the Albow Centre .The seminar NEW AGE SENIORS Ageing without growing Old had a selection of top class speakers speaking on a variety of interesting an pertinent topics . The keynote address was given by John Scott , and he certainly set the tone for the day. There were two panel discussions – the first with Dr Saville Furman, Prof Tuvia Zabow and Adv Graham van der Spuy who addressed Life Decisions one needs to make. The second panel discussion comprised of delegates from numerous retirement villages and homes who each were given the opportunity to speak about their homes. Dr Allan Puterman spoke on Medical Aids and ethical billing, Prof Lyn Gillis told us how to remain stimulated and busy. Then pharmacist Doryce Sher gave her views on pill taking and whether it is necessary to take a pill for every ill. Psychologist Connie Valkin addressed the importance of seeing that the carer is cared for and Dr Kathleen Ross addressed the issue of healthy ageing. The successful event ended with the Milnerton Line Dancers giving a display of their dancing.
