About the Highlands House Lifestyle Centre
On the 7th June 2013, Ann Susman, the wife of the late David Susman, and Eliot Osrin, our past Chairman of our Board of Trustees were introduced to the new Susman Lifestyle Centre. The late David Susman played a pivotal in ensuring that the Home reached the standards that we now have attained. Set in shades of grey, brown and blue, the new Centre, which was previously the Social Activities Centre, provides a space where residents of the Home can use on a daily basis.
As you walk in, one is struck by a sense of calm and relaxation. On your right “Sylvia’s Salon” boasts the latest hair care supplies and equipment. This is definitely the place to sit and chat about what’s going on at the Home. In front of you is astate of the art digital media equipment with cinema-view seating and a large television screen. Television is displayed throughout the day, guest speakers can use it for their documentaries or presentations and movies are shown on a regular basis. A new modern kitchen provides the residents with a space to enjoy cooking demonstrations or a cup of tea or coffee. In the future we intend holding cooking demo’s for the broader community. Small tables with relaxing chairs are situated throughout the room and residents can spend their time reading the daily newspapers, magazines or catch up with friends. This new Centre continues to provide areas for art classes, exercise classes and other meetings. This is definitely a space to visit.
