Jewish Care Cape (JCC) wishes to express its deep concern for the trauma that Professor Cyril Karabus is being subjected to in Abu Dhabi. His reputation nationally and internationally as a paediatric oncologist, and the outpourings of respect and appreciation from past patients, speaks volumes about this caring, committed, yet humble man. st standards of patient care make his treatment in Abu Dhabi inexplicable and particularly inappropriate.
As the umbrella body for the seven Jewish welfare organisations based in Cape Town, and in line with our ethos of fostering a caring community, Jewish Care Cape wishes to unequivocally voice its concern about the dire treatment accorded Professor Karabus. We wish to protest in the strongest possible terms against this ongoing abuse of his rights and the tragic impact it has on him personally, in terms of his family and the broader community.
We wish him and his family strength and courage during this difficult time and pray that they will soon be re-united in Cape Town.
