JCS ART/CRAFT PROJECT
Do you have an interest ,background , knowledge and either the skills or the willingness to learn simple basic skills and techniques in arts/crafts particularly beading and or jewellery making .This together with or purely a desire to engage in a meaningful pursuit towards the upliftment of the Jewish Community?
If this resonates with you then this could be the opportunity you have been searching for.
JCS’s art/craft group meets weekly and requires person/s to coordinate, facilitate and develop this meaningful community project in various capacities of your choice. This can include project management, coordination, facilitation, fund raising and development into income generation and stimulation through outings to galleries, artists homes etc. for the members.
Choose what you would like to do as well as how much time you wish to devote.

JCS ART/CRAFT GROUP PROJECT
Two and a half years after the establishment of this project a consistent membership continues to meet weekly .The benefits of creating are well documented where members extend the parameters of individual creative expression cultivated in an environment of friendly camaraderie, and easy conversation binding them in a spirit ofa collective goal – TO CREATE.
Out of this oasis for JCS clients blossoms a soothing distraction from daily stressors, a quietness of mind that replenishes the soul whilst bolstering the capacity of the person to cope with, manage or find solutions to problems .No less is the essence of pure joy absorbed from a sense of mastery and accomplishment.
STRING-A LONG PROJECT.
Beading/jewellery making is the most popular of the crafts for participants unfortunately the high cost of beads limits the variety, quality and number of beads available for use.
As such JCS is appealing to the community to donate either a string of beads, bead combo, range of beads or monetary donation.
A family visit to your local bead shop to choose colours and combinations for use can provide a fun outing for children or friends while instilling or reinforcing an ethos of social responsibility. The satisfaction derived from contributing towards a worthy cause which makes a difference in the lives of the members and contributes towards the upliftment of the Jewish Community may surprise you.
This may be done in lieu of birthday gifts or other milestone functions and will be acknowledged in a card to that effect.
